Bandwidth is simply the amount of traffic in and out of your
Web site that is allowed in a specific period of time (usually
1 month). Without exception, bandwidth is the most costly
expense for a Web Hosting Provider, and therefore must be regulated.
Many illegitimate Hosting Providers offer unusually high or "unlimited"
bandwidth limits. This type of scam is a marketing gimmick
intended to fool the un-informed consumer.
Disk space is the amount of storage space available for your Web
site, email and FTP data on a Web Server. Each page of your Web
site consumes part of this space. A single letter, for example
the letter 'A' is equal to on Byte of space. A Megabyte is roughly
1 million Bytes, or 1 million single characters. This text you
are reading is about 3 KB, or 3000 Bytes, or about 1/3 of a Megabyte.
The sum of all of your Web pages, email, and FTP data makes up
the total amount of Disk Space your site consumes.
We offer very real and managable Disk Space and Bandwidth limits
for our Web Hosting Packages.
Most of our clients never reach their monthly Bandwidth or Disk
Space limits, only using a fraction of what is allocated to their
domain, but if needed can use the entire allocated amount without
worrying about hidden clauses in our Hosting
Agreement. |
